In our quest for an ideal diet for a nourishing and a balanced meal we have gone overboard. Look at the internet. I think that is one subject which has cornered perhaps the most of the bandwidth. And it's a sheer wastage and a huge one at that. If one were to look at the diets in pre-internet era, they were quite close to what the respective traditions of the communities across the world would have it.
Eating out was a different ball game though. The latter invariably meant eating unhealthy, for the menus of even the top restaurants in the world are not conscious about what should go as healthy and balanced as long as it tasted a particular genre of cuisine. Eating balanced does not mean just what you eat as staple and on a limited menu. You may have been eating something really balance but when topped and combined with such a number of other so-called healthy foods, the end result may not be healthy.
